Day One

Yesterday was day one of our adventure. We got to do a walk-through of our new house.... let's just say that we were both disappointed. Gavin, having lived in the house for the first 10 years of his life, had a picture in his mind of his boyhood home. Much to his surprise, the house does not match his memories. I, having never seen the house, had no preconceived notions. But I was not expecting it to be in the condition it was. After many sighs and a few frustrated words, we decided to think positive. This is our house, our adventure. We can make it our own and the hard work we put into will make us appreciate it that much more. This is where we're going to raise our children and live in community with others. So let's get started!!

We're moving into a brick, single family home, that was built back in the 70's. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a den, a sitting room, an office, a large dining room, a single car garage, and is set on a very large, lush piece of land. Oh, and did I mention it's fenced in? My favorite part! This house has great potential. It needs an extreme clean and some fixing up, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. Our goal is to move in before July 31st...
